Mid July

Phlox and blossom-heavy hydrangea are loving the day heat

Yellow rockets and orange & burgundy day lilies are a terrific combination in the dogwood garden

"Black" hollyhocks are healthy for the first time

These orange & burgundy lilies are so showy now that they get more sun

Are butterflies carnivores? (That's a dead robin it seemed to feed on for more than an hour.)

Are squirrels vegetarians? (That's a green apple the squirrel is caught red, er, green-handed with.)

Meet Croker, a shore bird made from metal and an Ontario stone, a gift from Hilary while we were exploring the Bruce Penninsula, named for Croker Bay, a lonely lighthouse outpost on Georgian Bay where we collected at least a hundred pounds of rocks for our respective homes!
