Mid September

It's taken awhile to get it right, but September and early October are good color months around here!

The sun garden gets less sun now but enough for the vincas and daisies and second blooms on the blue hills sage.

Finally, the begonias begin to bloom. Pink, however, just doesn't fit my garden sensibility for September and October.

The real color star is the dogwood garden with late-blooming hostas, the new yellow shade rose and of course, the impatiens.

Mom's angel is hidden by impatiens AND coleus!

The goldenrod needs more sun (and staking) but the color shouts fall.

The long-blooming summer phlox are a surprise -- lots of color here and at the south end of the rose garden, too.

In front, too, there's color from annual begonias, African impatiens and caladium but also from late-blooming hostas and ...

... especially the "october guys" whose name I'm forgetting.

Even one pot is still bright with flower!
